The Compilation/Reissue section of this site is important to lesser known heavy to the point that I feel bad for not reviewing more off year releases. This goes especially true for albums that saw a very limited release in their initial year and are now seeing another limited release by a marginally larger label. If you know this sites visual aesthetic by now, this album with bright reds and a cartoonish looking cover is not something that is normally seen. there has to be something special abut a 2014 brightly covered album to break the continuing set.

At the moment, Rupture has one EP to his discography and that release is so intriguing, I now sort of long for more material. Despite its short running time and inclusion of obscure covers, Death to Peace is accessible to anyone with an ear for fast and often times catchy thrash spiked with banshee like vocals. The three original songs on Death To Peace whirl by like a blur anchored only by the hilarious inclusions of the Perished(?) and Cranium covers near the end. The levity in this release is palatable and often times I wish for more Rupture material since Death to Peace is satisfying to the extent of teasing. I guess I will wait another few years before missing another one of his releases.

China has seen a growing metal community in terms of atmospheric black metal from labels like Pest Productions. This is why Rupture is eye catching. Not only is death/thrash not a style which is normally played but death/thrash from China played by a one man act is wholly unique. When the music from that unique source is furious and sounds like a windstorm full of nails and glass, then the music becomes even more exhilarating. Death to Peace is seeing a reissue of 200 cassettes for a very modest price. If you ever long for the halcyon days of squealing guitar solos and no holds barred anguish, then prepare oneself.
